Mechanism of action:
Alten is the most effective chelate for iron deficiency in crops and orchards due to its EDDHA chelate and high percentage of ortho-ortho isomer. Iron fertilizer with EDDHA-Fe compounds has been known for about 40 years and is used as the best chelate iron fertilizer for alkaline soils. EDTHA chelating agent retains trivalent iron with high absorption and prevents its deposition in the soil. Therefore, in this case, the concentration of iron in the soil solution increases. Chelated iron fertilizer in the vicinity of the root is in the form of acidic and divalent iron reducing agents, and because the stability of divalent iron is not high in contact with the root, divalent iron is separated from the chelate and is easily received by plant roots. Chelated iron fertilizer has the ability to form chelates with other iron, but the life of this organic compound form in the soil is short and will disappear in a short time. In this case, to facilitate this method, the addition of ferrous compounds can be done.
